Major Catch-Up Coming…

Ok, so I’ve been pretty out of it blog-wise the past week. It’s not so much an issue of not wanting to blog. It’s just an issue of having the right time to do it. I’m thinking I’m going to work in a good chunk of time tomorrow to catch up on everything that’s been going on. I think my problem too is that I really like doing my post right before I go to bed. This is good and bad as my day is done but I usually spend a good chunk of time writing and don’t get to bed as soon as I really need to. I’m going to leave with at least one topic posted…

So a match has been found on eHarmony, and the communication stages have progressed through to the open messages back-and-forth. When I got to step 4 in the communication I started to get a little nervous. I’m still feeling aprehensive about the whole relationship thing after the last time. I’m feeling like I’m just setting myself up to get hurt again, seeing as how the only two relationships I’ve ever had have ended badly. I’m going into this with pretty much no expectations. This may be good or bad but the only way I’m going to be able to move forward in this area of my life. This may turn out to be nothing but it will be good for experience. I’ve given her the opportunity to read my blog. This may not have been wise by some, but I figure this is as close to who I really am and will give her the ability to see a bigger picture of who I am. I guess I figure if she sees this and doesn’t run for the hills then maybe I’ve got a chance at finding someone special out there that will love me for exactly who I am. Isn’t that the idea behind finding a mate. If they don’t love you for all you are then the relationship probably won’t last. Well, time will tell where this goes. Just another adventure in this thing called life. Well chow for now!

    Hardships…Who’s to Blame?

(Exodus 5:1-23) Initially it would seem that Moses and Aaron weren’t helping matters each time they talked to Pharaoh. The Isrealites even blamed them for making things harder for them. How did Moses and Aaron take that? Well we know that at least Moses in turn decided to blame God for what was happening to the Isrealites. It might seem that both the Isrealites and/or Moses were correct in placing blame, however they were wrong as God had a plan for it all. I think about when things, even small things, don’t go our way we so easily look to place blame. I think it can be so easy for us to lose sight of the possibility that God is working. We can never fully…

    Seeing The Light…

Since I’m still up, oh boy, let’s get a quick post in. Well, I’ll have to say that I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve got only one project I’ll be working on this week. I’m hoping to have that finished up by weeks end. The next step will be to take a break and just be social. I had a good time tonight visiting with some friends that were in town. Darren’s Mom & step Dad live right across the street. I’m going to have to plan a trip to visit them this spring. I didn’t get a chance to play with little Dane, so there’s another reason to visit. Well, the weekend was mostly used to work…

Seeking God’s Direction When Looking Out On The Horizon

Both my wife an I are going through a low point where neither of us feels we have clear direction on where we are headed. Specifically, where and how we are to be serving. I thought I had some clear direction but a week ago that all seemed to change. I’m finding myself questioning a lot of things right now. It’s difficult to weather the storm when things start to fall apart. One thing is clear though, that no matter where in the journey we find ourselves God is right there to walk with us through it. We’ll see what this next season brings for our family. One thing is for sure, given that both my wife and I feel like we are at…

    Reality Check…

Yeah, so I’ve been a lot of thinking lately. Surprised? 😛 Wednesday, at youth group, an interesting question was asked. “What makes you happy?” This really got me thinking. It was very hard for me to actually stop and consider what does make me happy. I made a comment about the fact that I really find enjoyment in helping others out, especially when it comes to computers. Times that I have to spend with friends, like this past weekend, that makes me happy. I think I spend so much time thinking about how alone I am that I don’t feel very happy a lot of the times. I think I’ve been living as though once I find that special someone that everything will be right…

  1. It’s like that song by Jon Brion:

    You’ve gotta hope
    That there’s someone for you
    Strange as you are
    Who can cope
With the things that you do
    Without trying too hard

    etc…

Good luck. I’m blogging about my eHarmony experiences as well lately…. which I think are mostly comedy. I’m not sold on the system yet, but I suppose I’ve got a couple more months to think about it.
