When God Says Move…You Sell Your House

So yes that’s a rather yuk-yuk pun. Just giving a little update as to the latest in the saga called my life. Oh, and don’t take that the wrong way, it was only ment in a rather sarcastic way. So on with it…I received my first offer on my house. It really isn’t what I’m hoping to get. The reality is if I was desperate I might take it, however that is not the case. I just can’t accept an offer that won’t give me the ability to actually make the move to Michigan. I know that it all needs to be left in God’s hands, and I’m not the greatest salesman, however I don’t really agree that I should intentionally take a hit on the sale and put God to the test. Frankly, we have been commanded not to put God to the test. In a way I guess the wait still continues. I’m planning on contact the first couple that looked at the house, to at least let them know that an offer has come in on the house. I might also try and contact this other couple from church that I’ve heard are looking for a house. I really just need to get a couple thousand more for the house and that would pretty much take care of all the expenses involved with moving. Well, it’s another late one so I’m going to leave things here for now.

    A Day of Blessings…

Well today has been such a full day of blessings. The sermon this morning, given by President Egge, was on generosity and not just about giving money, but the generosity that Christ showed to all through time & help. It was really good to hear about being generous in all areas of your life, following Christ’s example. Our LifeShapes study was excellent as well. Today we went through the hexagon, which focuses on prayer, and using the Lord’s Prayer as the model. While it gace and guideline, it also showed the vast ways that guideline can be worked out in our prayer life. Something that has brought me more in tune to a better prayer life is being open to the Holy Spirit’s leading in…
  • The First Disciples

(John 1:35-39) We see here that John the Baptist had disciples of his own. Actually, later in the Scriptures, Jesus gives us the great commission to go and make disciples. Now the disciples that John had were following him, until they heard and saw Jesus. Really, it was John that pointed his followers to go follow Jesus. Something that is interesting, however, is the fact that John calls Jesus the “Lamb of God”. This was pretty early in Jesus main ministry and I wonder how many people really understood what that meant? Jesus being called the “Lamb of God” really meant that he was a sacrifice given by God. At the time most people were waiting for a Messiah to come and save them, but…

    What God Brings…

It has been a few days since my last update. I think I should now be able to have more regular updates as I finally have internet access at my place, and my wireless is up and running. It’s not that I couldn’t post from Vanessa’s, that’s where the last one was posted from, I’ve just had a lot of other things to do during the day, and my best posting time is usually at night. If I’m at Vanessa’s in the evening we are usually spending time together, well I guess we’ve been spending just about all our evenings together. We have both talked about trying have more of a routine for the both of us. With the holiday during this week, and me…

    Student Ministries

Going to make a quick post tonight. This is my second round of seeing my time come to an end working with a group of student guys. Crazy enough the last group of guys I had are just graduating college this year. For me, no matter what it seems so hard to not havve regrets. Wishing I had more deep conversations, spent more time hanging out, took more opportunities to serve together, and I’m sure the list could go on. What I trust and hope in was that God was able to use me exactly as He had intended. I may never know if I really had an impact in these guys’ lives, and may even doubt when I catch glimspes of their lives down…

    Teach Me Patience…

These past few days have been pretty amazing. Let’s just say for starters, that God has really been teaching me a lot these days. This is something I very much need to think about and reflect on daily. Kind of all goes back to the learning circle. How important it is to reflect, plan, and act on the teaching that God does in our lives. It can be so easy to learn and move on without it having a truely lasting impact on our lives. God has been reminding me of this too. As of Wednesday God has really been revealing to me a need to be getting out of the Christian bubble I live in. It’s much like the times the disciples wanted to…

  1. first of all: way to say “yuk-yuk pun.” that was amazazing

Secondly: I’m sure God will work all this out for what’s best in your life. I can see you are really relying on Him and trying to follow His will. I’m praying for you Tim.

  2. Tim:
I don’t know what to say about the news that you are moving to MI. I guess the last time we heard from you we found out about Vanessa and now you are thinking about moving where she is.
You know what Tim, when the Lord puts a desire in your heart, he will take care of the rest. We like to see things moving fast, but I warn you, be very pacient because sometimes it takes time. But, we are glad to know what is happening with you so we can pray for your plans and for God’s will to be clearly shown to you.
By the way, we saw Vanessa’s pictures. She’s pretty. Maybe someday we can see you and meet her. Tim, you are a great guy and you deserve a wonderful woman in your life. We hope things work out for good. Write back and let us know how are things going with work and the sell of the house.
    See ya,
    Flor
