    Life Without Internet…Wednesday

    So back to Wednesday…it was a bit of a crazy day, as most Wednesdays are. I basically headed straight to church after work. I had Sunday Morning Worship Team practice before youth group. I started early with just Brad. It can be a real challenge for me as I’m not used to playing in more of a backup role on the guitar. I feel pretty clueless as to how to play. What didn’t help matters either was that a lot of the songs I either didn’t know or have never played on the guitar.     Working Nights & Weekends

    Resisting the urge to work nights or weekends has been a challenge since starting my new job with Sprint back in September. Having a big high visibility project, that is all new, hasn’t helped matters. This article from DZone says a lot to why I need to put my boundaries back in place. I know things aren’t at a good place when my wife says “you’ve been working a lot lately, when will things get back to normal”. Major red flag indeed. So looking forward to the next few months as we’ll be moving into a new house, and my wife plans a trip to Africa, I’ll need to think long and hard before I pickup the work computer during my nights and weekends.

    Looking Back on 2017, the Year of Firsts

    I don’t recall if I’ve ever written any sort of year-in-review blog post or even social media post, but this year I have had so many firsts that I wanted to reflect on and share my thanks for. Health In the health department I not only reached my initial target goal weight but actually surpassed it, and my second target. I think this year I’ve weighed the least that I have in 26 years. I have always struggled with my weight and living a more healthy lifestyle. I attribute my success primarily to my wife, and also to the encouragement of many friends and family.
