Live 80s Music at the Daybreak Volunteer Celebration

I had the pleasure to join the regular staff at Daybreak and serve all our amazing volunteers. On top of that I enjoyed taking in an 80s music concert as well. I was in elementary school in the 80s so some would think that I would identify more with 90s music. It’s a both/and relationship for me, but for whatever reason I gravitate to 80s music. The following song was played last night and came up on my Google Play Music station this morning. For sure a 80s favorite.

    Wasteful Weekends, Geeks…Gotta Love Em

    So yeah, I pretty much wasted the weekend away again. Not totally, but I could have done a lot more than I did. I guess I sort of get tired of doing stuff, like work, all the time and want some time to just kick back and relax. I’m feeling like I’m kind of spinning my wheels with the web job. I really like to nail down the site design before I do the custom programming stuff. The problem is they’ve given me hardly anything to work with.     Pleasant Day…And Winter is Here

    Well, all-in-all it was a pretty good day. I actually managed to get up by 5:30 and get going. So yeah I didn’t get much sleep last night, but it was worth it. I got most of my small website projects done. I wish I would have had the whole day to work on stuff. My department spent the afternoon going a bit deeper in the DISC profile. Wanting to discover how we can better work together. It was good to go deeper into what makes up each of us. We were reminded again that the profile is not something to use as an excuse for our actions. Each personality type has it’s strengths and weeknesses. It’s the weeknesses that we need to work on…

    Life Without Internet…Wednesday

    So back to Wednesday…it was a bit of a crazy day, as most Wednesdays are. I basically headed straight to church after work. I had Sunday Morning Worship Team practice before youth group. I started early with just Brad. It can be a real challenge for me as I’m not used to playing in more of a backup role on the guitar. I feel pretty clueless as to how to play. What didn’t help matters either was that a lot of the songs I either didn’t know or have never played on the guitar.     Weekend Recap…

    Ok, so I guess I took a break from the whole blog thing, sort of. Basically I ended up adding some additional features and tweaks. I never did get to see any friends. Oh well, hopefully another time. Sunday, my family and I headed off to the Minnesota State Fair with my aunt and uncle. My sister invited two friends so they basically went off and did their own thing. It started out with kind of crumby weather on the way, but it cleared up by the time we got their and started walking around. I can’t say that I say anything exceptional. Did visit the technology building (surprised?! LOL), and Unisys had some pretty cool bio-metric stuff they were showing off. HP was there…
