WordPress Development On A Chromebook, Termux, & Neovim
So about 6 months ago I decided to make some changes to my personal development environment. I’ve been using a Chromebook as my primary machine since about 2013. I first purchased an Acer C710 for my wife to use but compared to our Macbook Pro it was a frustrating and subpar experience for her, not to mention she was a heavy Adobe Suite user. Since sharing the Macbook Pro was challenging I set out to use the Chromebook as me development machine. Originally I went with the crouton option. My daughter knows exactly how to send email on our Chromebooks and managed to do so, sending an email to my wife, without any prior direction from me. #kids #technology #parenting #gmail #email #education To provide some context, our home network and devices are all pretty well locked down and managed. Our 7 & 9 year old’s don’t have complete free reign to do whatever they want, at least without bounds. Additionally, their elementary school uses Google for Education and they get school email addresses starting at 3rd grade. Looking Back on 2017, the Year of Firsts
I don’t recall if I’ve ever written any sort of year-in-review blog post or even social media post, but this year I have had so many firsts that I wanted to reflect on and share my thanks for. Health In the health department I not only reached my initial target goal weight but actually surpassed it, and my second target. I think this year I’ve weighed the least that I have in 26 years. Fixing OpenLiteSpeed Caching for ActivityPub on WordPress
After some conversation with others on #Mastodon about other caching issues with #ActivityPub & #WordPress it was revealed that it came down to the Accept headers being received by requests to the caching services. The caching services could be things like #Cloudflare or web servers such as #OpenLiteSpeed, or even WordPress caching plugins. In my case I use the OpenLiteSpeed web server caching and I started digging into how caching works in OpenLiteSpeed and how I could fix it for my WordPress site.
