How Do You Stay Warm In Sub-Zero Temps? Run.
It really looks worse than it was. I was trying to get a smile in there but I think things were a little too frozen. Ha. Despite how cold things were with the wind chill, it was really a comfortable run. I even got finished with a pretty great average pace. While I listened to the worship music playing I spent time thinking about and praying for our Sierra Leone team. I’m excited to see God’s plans unfold. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Relegating To The Treadmill
With my wife out of town I can’t be leaving the kids home alone, this means the treadmill it is. I think this is the first time I’ve been on the treadmill probably in the last 8-10 months. I literally can’t remember the last time I had to use it. For times like these I’m glad we have it or there would be no running. Since the treadmill required significantly less thought, except for changing the speed during the short interval run segment, it gave me ample time to think about the Sierra Leone team and trip. I continue to pray for our team’s planning and the journey to come. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

A Little Less Hair And A Little More Speed
This morning was a bonus #Endomondo training run day. According to the Endomondo marathon training plan I needed to do at least 5 days of running per week which meant adding Wednesdays as a running day instead of the #HWI training plan’s cross training day. I haven’t gone through to see how other things line up though I have my doubts much will actually line up. We’ll see what plan I end up following in the end. I spent some time thinking about, and praying for, the people in Sierra Leone, especially those that I encountered last year when I was there. The rainy season should have either started or should be starting. This always presents it’s own challenges. For many getting around during the…

10 More Miles And 2 Years Ago
It was great weather for a 10 miles run this morning. As I finished things up I was reminded that just 2 years ago I was blessed to be hanging out with a bunch of children in Sierra Leone. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun I had hoped to return there last year but things didn’t work out. Traveling to Sierra Leone and seeing first hand the hardship of the lack of clean water, as well as the blessings a village experiences when a well is put in, is something that I will never forget. Let me tell you, until you have an experience like that your world view is pretty narrow minded. It’s that experience that has driven much of my perspective on the impact…

Saturday Morning Groundhog Day Marathon Course Training Run
Knocked out 18 miles this morning with my running partner. We decided to take on the Groundhog Day Marathon course near Millennium Park, 4 laps of the course. It was a good practice run. I’m glad we still have another month n of training to go as I could definitely feel the last couple of miles of just the 18. I thought the weather was pretty good for an early morning run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Donate to Wells in Africa – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

Getting In A Quick Tuesday Training Run
A well in a village in Africa is an important part of the community, and something to be guarded for sure. You will usually see a fence around the well in order to keep animals and thieves away. There is a national standard for the well pump, which also makes it a target for theft. Clean water is as valuable as gold in some places in the world. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Give to Life, Donate Now: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
