Early Morning Saturday 4 Mile Training Run

Had to get my run done early today since I’ve got a lot of projects to do today. I had to be at the park to hang out with the team though.

Doing A Night Run, Fast And Comfortable

I didn’t get out to run this morning on account of the my daughter keeping us up a lot the night before. The alarm went off and I was just so tired I need some sleep to make it through the day. I decided to get my run in tonight and i was glad I still got it in today. I didn’t spend much time thinking or “talking”, I just focused on listening to the worship music. It really felt great. It was supposed to be an easy, slower, run but it just ended up being a bit more of a faster comfortable run. I’m still seriously considering doing the #GroundhogDayMarathon coming this February. I’d love to be able to represent #HWI at that run,…
  • Still Running for Clean Water

Even though the official running season for the West Michigan chapter of Hope Water has come to a close, the need for clean water hasn’t. An even more, someone has put up a $20,000 match from now until the Disney marathon the start of January. Right now all donations can have double the impact. What better time to give hope during this Christmas season. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Double your Christmas giving today: https://timn.me/2020HWI

A Better Tuesday Long Run, Working On Endurance

In Sierra Leone, Africa, many have no choice but to endure miles of travel to access water, and for many that water isn’t safe but they don’t have any other options. The need for clean water it’s great, and through Hope Water International, progress is being made, but we’re not done yet. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Join Hope Water to bring clean water Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr This morning I really worked on slowing my pace to fall in line with the training plan. I had a much better pace today than a few days ago. It was definitely a focus on endurance than speed. In some ways slowing down is more work than it is to speed up. I’d like to see if I continue to…

Final Training Run Before The Groundhog Marathon

Things were a bit off, and out of the normal, this morning. It actually started last night as I discovered that the #Endomondo service was apparently down, which meant I couldn’t load my training plan to see what my last run would be. Then this morning the Endomondo app on my phone wouldn’t even load right. Since my smartwatch came with #Strava built-in, and I’ve been syncing data there, I decided to give it a go on my run. It worked out well enough, except the watch and phone apps don’t talk to each other in real-time which meant I had no audio coaching and no real-time stats, including heart rate, pace, etc. Looking at my final stats I knocked the run out with flying…

A Little Farther, A Little Slower

This morning was really not even a full mile farther than Tuesday. Things were a little slower today but that’s just fine, it was still a good solid run. I really need to start working on a new training plan soon. I’ll have to wait to start a new training plan until I’m back I the swing of things after my surgery next week. I’m hoping that I don’t have to take too much of a break from running after my surgery, but we’ll see what happens. I’m still in the fence on whether I’ll be running the full marathon again this year or if I’ll be scaling back to the half marathon. I’ll have to make a final decision once I’ve recovered from my…
