Celebrating A Good Run And Thankful For The Tough Ones
When you have a good training run you can celebrate by looking back on those tough days that got you there. The tough days remind you why you are doing it. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Celebrate the New Year with the gift of clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr It’s the hard days that help you grow and get better, that are going to get you through to the end of a marathon race. Despite how hard they may be at the time, they bring balance to your training. Without the hard days we have less to celebrate on the good days.

It’s The Abominable Snowman!
Let’s just say it was a little cold outside. I still don’t understand why people, and businesses, and churches couldn’t have their sidewalks clear by now. For those that got them cleared you are a blessing to us runners. I made the mistake of using my CamelBak again. The line froze again at about mile 3-4. I need to figure out something better, maybe the best I can do is water bottles when it’s this cold and just conserve. I can say that until now it’s been pretty great weather for runners in the winter. I take days like this as just another way to prepare for anything come the Groundhog Day Marathon. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

Family Day At The Air Zoo
We had a fun day as a family at the Air Zoo. We’d never been there but this month there was a reciprocity deal with the Grand Rapids Public Museum. I love the reciprocity deals you get with memberships. Nice to try some new things. #FamilyOuting #GRPM #AirZoo

First Hill Training Run Of 2019
Things warmed up a little this morning. I got a little bit of a later start today. I had a hard time sleeping last night, perhaps because of all the holiday eating yesterday. Still had a good run in though. I even tackled some hill training. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

Running With Purpose, Grand Rapids Marathon Training
Bringing clean water to those in Africa that desperately need it is a far better purpose for running than simply staying healthy. Every day I get out and run is a reflection of my commitment to clean water. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

A Hot Morning Run To Remember Sierra Leone
We’re definitely into the hot #summer runs. I can’t imagine doing my #training run later in the day with this heat, especially not with lots of water. I thought 1 bottle was going to be enough this morning, boy was I wrong. Despite the heat I still had a good time focusing on prayer and listening to God. Especially remembering those in Sierra Leone that impacted me. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water
