A Hard Journey For Water
For many in Africa the journey to gather water is a treacherous one. They may not even end up gathering clean water. I expected to have a better overall average time given my training plan had me doing high intensity sprints. It’s OK though as my times were faster than my plan actually called for. The 2nd half of my run was really a little bit of a wake up call on where my focus has been lately. Life has been more about me lately and I’ve been missing, or straight up ignoring the needs of people around me. I may be a bit hard on myself but I’m one that always feels called to do better and not let myself just coast through life. Enjoyed a run with some light snow falling. One challenge was that when I started things were clear, with no snow in the forecast, but a couple miles into the run the snow started and I noticed many slick spots on the sidewalk. And wouldn’t you know I had decided not to wear my cleats. I surprisingly still finished with a pretty solid average pace. I haven’t really ran in much for significant weather yet this winter. We’ll see what Minnesota brings to my runs next week while visiting family. I get a lot of comments about not “taking a break” from running. And I don’t discount the concern people may have that I’m pushing myself towards injury. The reality of it though is that…Bringing Hope To Children For A Brighter Future
