What Difference Does A Drilled Well Make?

Something that may not really be understood when people hear that #HWI helps to put in wells in Africa. The wells that Hope Water International partners with #WorldHope are drilled wells. These wells go down deep to clean water, and they overcome the challenges of the dry season. During the dry season the hand dug wells, or holes like is pictured here, dry up and daily living becomes a struggle to make it to the next rainfall. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

    First “Long Run” of 2021

Started of this new year with a 10K Saturday “long run”, as my training plan called it. It was a tough run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun #Hello2021 #NewYear I can tell that this past year has taken a toll on my health. Unfortunately I’m a stress eater. I think food has always been something that I’ve used to feel good. Of course, when you live a pretty sedentary lifestyle, that causes weight gain and I struggled with that for many years. I haven’t gained all of the weight back that I lost a few years ago, staying active and running has helped with that. However, my eating habits this past year started to regress. I need to get back in track this year. I signed…

    Keeping The Trots At Bay

This morning the wheels pretty much fell off my 6.5 mile run. As you can see I really only got a little more than 4 miles in. I had to stop because I just couldn’t keep jostling things around and keep the trots from hitting me. I did manage to get another really slow 1.5 miles in after that but it was still rough. I’m not sure exactly what the cause was but I do know that I haven’t been exactly eating great the last few weeks. Hopefully this next week I can get back in my groove. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Being Thankful For My Health, And Focusing On Others

This morning I got myself to a place where I could honestly see that I was letting myself get wrapped up in my own pity party. I was losing sight of the opportunity to be thankful for my health and be focusing on those less fortunate. The big question came to mind of why I am running. Am I running for myself? Are my runs all about how far or fast I can run? It seems pretty obvious that I got myself far from where I should be. I turned things around this morning and spent some time in praise for how God has blessed me, and especially spent time lifting friends and family up in prayer that have bigger needs than me. #HWI #WhyIRun

    Running With Purpose And Hope

I really worked on trying to keep it an easy run, and not push myself so hard, this morning. I made a point of listening to my heart rate, especially for a long easy run. I definitely had a lot on my mind. When I start lifting people, and needs, up to God in prayer I so easily hey overwhelmed with all the needs of so many that I know. Some days it feels like the world is just such a disaster. Something hit me this morning though. Seeking God’s will and plan for your life was never presented as making for an easy life. The very fact that Jesus said “take up your cross and follow me” is pretty self-explanatory on what that is…

    Wee Early Morning Run

Well, this morning was not a typical training run. With having to start work at 5:30 in the morning my focus was mostly on getting done as quick as I could. I did take some time at the end of my run for some prayer time, so it wasn’t a total loss. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
