Listening to Your Children

How often are we “too busy” to listen to our children? How often do we let our personal agendas, attitudes, or being tired let us get frustrated and angry with our children? I’m sure that we all have our moments. And I’m pretty sure we’ve all had to deal with frustrating people in our lives, other than our children. If we want to have a relationship with our children that has a solid foundation then we need to do more but listening and curb the frustration and anger.

  • Feeling 99% Today!

    Thanks for all the prayers guys! I’m feeling about 99% back to normal today. Got up at my normal 5:30 am, got some snow moved and got to work early.     Life Without Internet…Thursday

    Thursday was an ok day at work. I really didn’t feel like I was able to keep on task as well as I would have liked. I was able to make some progress on the CLB site, integrating the forums into the homepage. I also got to talking with Todd about the whole blogging thing. He had setup himself with a Blogger.com blog. I offered to host a WordPress blog for him, then we got on the sunject of creating a CLB Blog site. Not sure how much of a demand there might be for this. I think it might be cool if Synod Staff & Pastors had blogs through the CLB. I didn’t get out of work till like 6. I decided to take…

  • Quick Morning Post…

    Ok, my logical analytical side and my creative side think too much [edit: and throw in my emotional nature, oh boy]. And it sucks! I’m kind of feeling the effects of that this morning. Grrr! Wish there was someway to fix my head. So this morning isn’t turning out to be the best. I forgot to set my alarm, woke up 10 minutes before I was to be at work, grrr. I made it into work by 7:15, not so bad. Well on to the grind I guess. Time to turn on some tunes and get my mind off of crazy thinking.

    What Has Today Brought?

    I’d haveto say that all-in-all it was a decent day. I would have preferred to get a bit farther along in my data-entry, I spent a good portion of the day generating mailing lists. I would have to say that about the best parts of today were getting up early and having some good devotion time and breakfast before I headed off to work. I think both of those things have proven to make my mornings more productive. This evening wasn’t too bad. I didn’t get quite as much accomplished tonight as I had hoped but I did manage to have a rather tasty steak and potato supper, I also began creating an actual budget I hope to be sticking by.     Giving Thanks Even Through The Tough Times

    Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT There are days, sometimes even seasons, in our lives that are tough, even painful, and yet we still need to give thanks to God. No matter what valleys we end up in God is there and we can find some blessings in our lives. I’m glad to be reminded today that, despite feeling like everything is falling apart around me, God is still there and He has blessed me with a lot.
