Student Ministries

Going to make a quick post tonight. This is my second round of seeing my time come to an end working with a group of student guys. Crazy enough the last group of guys I had are just graduating college this year.

For me, no matter what it seems so hard to not havve regrets. Wishing I had more deep conversations, spent more time hanging out, took more opportunities to serve together, and I’m sure the list could go on. What I trust and hope in was that God was able to use me exactly as He had intended. I may never know if I really had an impact in these guys’ lives, and may even doubt when I catch glimspes of their lives down the road. What I can do is continue to keep them in my prayers and trust that God will continue to bring the righ people into their lives to continue to draw them closer to His. That is my heart and prayer.

That is what ministry is all about, point others to Him. I’m feel a bit of a struggle these days in trying to discover what God’s got planned next for me. I trust that He has exactly the right plan in the works. I’m praying that I can continue to seek His will and here His call clearly when it comes.

Well, that probably wasn’t as short as I probably intended, but then again I was never very good at keeping my thoughts short. 😉

    Long Time Gone…

Well, it seems that once I get out of sync with something it can be like pulling teeth to get back into it. It pretty much began when I moved out here to Michigan that my online presence started to fade a little. Since I’ve gotten married it’s been even less. I think what has happened is that when I was just a single guy there was not really anyone much to protect. I could pretty much voice my opinion and share my feelings about anything to the entire world without much fear of the consequences. Things are very different now. I have a wife to protect. This isn’t a bad thing. I’d protect her from anything I could, she’s my wife, I love her…

    What’s in Store?

Well, I said that I was going to try and start blogging once again and I see it’s been like a month since my last post. Let’s just say life seems to be forever busy, not to say that life wasn’t busy back when I would blog up to 2 times a day, but things are busier. Now that I’m marriage and hopefully a baby on the way there is just more responsibilities. I think I’m coming to a point in my life where I’m having to really look hard at what is really most important. There are so many things I could be doing, and pretty much all good things. The thing that I wrestle with the most is that family comes first. What…
  • Ugh…It’s 4:11 am…What’s That Smell

So this morning was A LOT early than I was planning on getting up. Darn dog decided to take a dump in my room. I think I’m going to have to borrow the carpet shampooer from my parents this weekend. Had to clean that all up, I still think I’m smelling that dog poo stench, and I’m not even in the room (I’m downstairs, in the Living Room). Well just thought I’d share that…ugh…I feel sick. Pets, sometimes you love ’em, sometimes you don’t.
  • The Other John

(John 1:15-28) – One thing that can be confusing wen you are reading through the Scriptures is the fact that the same names are used in more than one context. Here we’re reading the book of John and right at the begin he begins talking about John. The John that is talked about here is actually John the Baptist who, if you read more of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John) you’ll find out is actually Jesus cousin. Now John the Baptist was called by God to go ahead of Jesus and prepare people for his coming. John was a pretty wild looking guy and got pretty riled up when speaking about Jesus coming. Since he was baptizing people the Pharisees were pretty interested…
