New Route, Same Running Partner

I met up with my running partner at the Riley Street Middle School this morning, and we tackled a new running route. Runner’s know you don’t want change up too much at once. It was a mostly rural run, had to run the roads for the majority of the route, but that was just fine, while have some good conversation with my running partner.

    Early Tuesday Morning Training Run For Clean Water

    It’s a strange thing comparing your hot midday run to your cool early morning. I would have thought that I was going to knock my pace out of the park this morning but alas no. I have to believe that my lack of rest last night was a major contributor. The interesting thing was seeing my heart rate drop to the low to mid 130s during miles 5 & 6.     Starting Off The Week With A Long Wet Training Run

    Despite the rain and chill, caused by a little breeze, it was decent enough to get out for a longer run. The weather was still a big motivator to keep going, which unfortunately caused my pace to be faster than what the training plan called for, but oh well. #Endomondo I enjoyed a run full of #worship music, but I felt so overwhelmed by the needs of friends and family, physically; emotionally; and spiritually, that it was very hard to focus and being very specific in my prayers.     A 5 Mile Training Run In The Face Of A Challenging World

    As I ran this morning I couldn’t help but think about the impact that #COVID19 is having on our world and not just with those infected, having died, or those secluding themselves bin protection. There is the global economic impact that I fear will also impact giving to those that have been in need. When there is a huge need for support of those that have lost there jobs right around you it seems challenging to be asking for money to send overseas for wells. The world challenges of poverty and access to clean water didn’t go away when the virus hit, those needs are still very much there and now more needs have been added on top. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

    Knocking Out 14 Miles For Clean Water

    This past week I was reading a YouVersion devotional written by a marathon runner. The author talked about the point during the marathon when we are faced with the question “why am I doing this?”. This can also happen during those tough training days. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Today was a good day, but on a long run the question of why can still pop up.
