The Groundhog Marathon – Another Marathon In The Books

Despite the rough training I stuck it out and participated in another Groundhog Marathon. The first half went well, but the second half not so much. It was a challenge but I finished. It was a joy to represent and I had a lot of “Hope Water” shout-outs along the 2ay.

    It Shouldn’t Be All About The Run

    No PR today on my long tempo run but the but I also don’t feel like I over did it either so that helps me to know I could still push myself to a faster pace or keep up that pace for a longer time/distance. Unfortunately this morning was one of those where my mind got totally lost in the run itself.     Serving Others

    God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. – 1 Peter 4:10 NLT  Sometimes I think we lose sight of how God intended for us to use our gifts. If we are using our gifts to serve others, not just the church or ministries, we are doing exactly what God has called us to do. Christ came as a servant, as an example to us how we should serve others.

    Pushing Through An Intense Speed Test Run

    Back at it again this morning. It was an intense short training test run. I was hoping to see a #5K #PR but that may have to wait until Saturday when I do the #HotCiderHustle 5K. I had just ran the night before so my body hadn’t really had a ton of recovery time. I’ll be looking forward to representing #HWI at the Hot Cider Hustle.     Fun Day With The Kids And Family

    We had a fun day with the kids starting off with a birdhouse building project at Home Depot. The kids didn’t want to go but in the end they had a lot of fun. On our way home from birdhouse building we stopped to checkout the animals at PetSmart. The kida of course wanted to get more pets but we aren’t ready to go down that road just yet. We already have a cat that they have a hard time with. The afternoon was filled with festivities celebrating Jacob’s Birthday. He was so happy to have family come adn especially his school friend. Us adults enjoyed some adult conversations for a change as well. Pokemon was the highlight of Jacob’s party.
