Vanessa picked up an oscillating multi-tool for me today so I could get the cabinet above the stove modified to fit the new microwave. Had to make a run for a second blade to tackle the few nails. Overall this is a slick tool. Got to have the right tool for the job on these projects. ?

  • Cabinet Remodel, Finishing The Doors

    Today I needed to finish up cutting down the cabinet doors, the last part needed to make room for the microwave above the stove. I got the table saw out for the first time since selling our house almost 2 years ago. It’s been sitting in storage. I got them cut down by chopping the tops off. Then I used my father-in-law’s router to get the cabinet edge trimmed so they fit in the new reduced opening. I’ll be honest the sanding, mudding, and painting things are my least favorite thing to do. Anytime I get to build something new, or fix something, that’s when I have the most fun with these remodeling projects. I’ll be finishing out the day with the not so fun…

  • New House Flooring, Day 2…Dining Room Done

    Tonight was flooring day #2. I initially had the help of my father-in-law and then my buddy Jon Kay arrived to give a hand. We wrapped things up at about 11pm and got just into the kitchen. We got all the underlayment in the kitchen set but there will be some initial crazy cutting required. The kitchen is smaller so hopefully it doesn’t go so bad. Once the kitchen is complete then appliances can be moved in, and the hallway can be completed. We’ll see how the rest of everything goes. So thankful for the help we’ve had getting things ready.

    A Little Life Update…

    Well, I have to say that life is still kind of up and down for me. I’m beginning to realize that being busy is probably in my nature. As I think back to my high school and college days, I remember being a pretty active guy. And to think I have shy tendencies, lol. I would have to say I’m far from being the guy in the middle, I’m the guy that is at both extremes at the same time. What and interesting combination that brings, lol. I’m finding it nice to pretty much have all my projects for people done. I’ve got another that will be starting, a missionary promo, but I don’t expect that to tak too much time.     Quick One Tonight…

    Ok, long story short I’m in a little hot water as I’m behind in the website job. Technically the contract they signed covers my butt, however it’s looking like I don’t have enough time for these types of side jobs. The day was pretty good, but too many things to do, this partly due to the problems with one of the servers. Ended up being no praise team practise as too many couldn’t make it. It was alright though cause I could work on the website project and get my music together for tomorrow. Well, I’ve already done my reading for tonight, I said a quick good night to a bunch on IM, and I’m checking outta here tonight as well. This will give everyone…
