God’s Amazing Work

So I know that I haven’t been so good about keeping up my blog posts on a regular basis. It’s kind of amazing how even when life seems to settle down you don’t have time foe some of the simple things. I guess one issue I’ve been facing lately is not being able to get to sleep early, and getting up early. It just has kind of thrown things off a bit. I guess the other part of my lack of blogging is the fact that I’ve started the podcast as well. Even more is how much God has been doing in my life, which has kind of kept me from blogging. Like the fact that I have someone special that is apart of my life.

This has really been something that has been “in the works” for about the past 3 months. Most of you should already know who I’m talking about. I guess Vanessa and I have sort or arrived at the place where we both feel that our relationship has become more than just friends. We’re excited to see where God leads us. While this is a sort of big part of my life, God has also been working in another big way.

I have talked about, for some time, my feelings of being inside a Christian bubble that just seems comfortable and even easy. I’ve struggled with the thought of not really having and friends or aquintences that are not Christians. I’ve been feeling that what the church, as everyone around here knows it, isn’t enough for me. I’ve talked about my desire for authentic Christian community. Not compartmentalizing my faith. I want to be in a community of believers that wants to do relational ministry. Where has God brought me? He’s brought me to a point in my life where I feel ready for a huge change in my life. I don’t know where, or when, He’s going to move me. I do know that at some point in the probably near future I will be leaving behind a lot of things, people & where I live. I’m sure people will be sad to see me go, but my God is not my own, it is God’s to do with what He wills.

So yeah, that is where I’ll leave things for now. I’ll be looking to post more on the relationship stuff as I feel it good to do so. Valete!

    Busy Days, Lazy Nights…

Just wanted to make a quick post. My days, Monday & Tuesday, were crazy busy. On the other hand both evenings were kind of lazy on my part. Monday I did try working on recording some music. That would have been better if I ended up actually having something to show for the time I spent. I sort of had something, probably was trying to add in some percussion loops to what I had recorded. I ended up having my own timing on what I recorded. Well, of course I didn’t save each take as a seperate recording session, GarageBand still seems a bit odd to work with at times. Last night I just worked on trying to update some software both on the podcast…

    Who’s Your Best Friend?

When you simply hang out together … when you carve out time for your most important relationship… when you make a point of sharing the little day-to-day moments… the results of that in your marriage are profound. – Biblical Secrets to a Happy Marriage This morning during my devotions time I was challenged with how I think about my wife. I’d heard other couples talking about their spouse being their best friend but I’d never really given it much thought myself and sort thought friends were in a different group than my wife. My best friend was a guy that I have served with in ministry for years and was the best man in my wedding. However if there is anyone in my life that should…
  • This One Goes Out to All The Analytics…

Ok, so is analytics even a word….guess so according to Websters. I think it’s a riot how I can take a situation and analyze it to death, then God comes in and tells me to just follow His lead. Am I slow or what. It’s so easy to forget, that despite our best efforts God’s still the one in control. Well this is just a short post this morning before I get ready. God is the best, yeah! Ok, until later! Chow! Do I like the word chow or what? LOL

    John Confirms Jesus

(John 1:29-34) So, John didn’t know Jesus really, other than what God had revealed to him. However, the key things that God revealed to him was how he would recognize who Jesus was. We see here that Jesus came to John to be baptized. Even though, as far as John was concerned, he wasn’t worthy to baptize Jesus that is what Jesus required of him. He did this and then John saw first hand the Holy Spirit come down onto Jesus, and this was exactly what God had told John would happen. At that point John had no doubt at all that this was Jesus. He told everyone what he had been told and experienced.
