Pleasant Day…And Winter is Here

Well, all-in-all it was a pretty good day. I actually managed to get up by 5:30 and get going. So yeah I didn’t get much sleep last night, but it was worth it. I got most of my small website projects done. I wish I would have had the whole day to work on stuff. My department spent the afternoon going a bit deeper in the DISC profile. Wanting to discover how we can better work together. It was good to go deeper into what makes up each of us. We were reminded again that the profile is not something to use as an excuse for our actions. Each personality type has it’s strengths and weeknesses. It’s the weeknesses that we need to work on and we need to know how to best interact with other personality types. I can sure see how my personality causes social issues. This is something I obviously have to work on, I think God has been helping me see this and working on it with me.

I decided to make some more bread today. I started it during lunch and I came home to fresh baked bread. I decided to make some cinnamon bread, didn’t have raisins to add. It was good stuff.

We had youth praise team tonight. Two of our members didn’t make it. I decided to cancel next weeks practice, give them a break, and then the week after Thanksgiving we’ll have a final practice before we lead that Wednesday. I think the group is really coming along. I haven’t gotten a lot of feedback from them, I hope they are enjoying it.

I didn’t do a whole lot tonight other than work on bills. I’ve got everything covered. I need to do some deposits and get some things off in the mail tomorrow. I’m actually still waiting for two bills to come yet.

Joel Egge loaned me the book that is now on my Planned Reading list, you can see this on the left. He recommended this some time ago, I believe it was after he read a post of mine that talked about my relationship issues. I’m kind of honored to know that he reads my blog now and then, actually I’m pretty honored that anyone reads my blog. I have a lot of respect for Joel. He has a great deal of wisdom and has a caring heart.

Well, I think I’m going to keep this pretty short tonight. On to some reading, then to bed for me. Ok, one final note. I think I’ve got a short in the brain somewhere. So I always close my posts with “chow” which is so rediculous. The correct word to be using is “ciao”, a kind soul pointed this out to me. When I realized this it had me totally laughing at myself. Now I think it’s great, I’m still going to use “chow”, it’s a lot more funny that way. LOL

Here I go, CHOW! LOL 😀

  • Podcast Site Development Begun…

Well, the domain name (https://www.faithshaping.org/) has been setup, and an initial site has been created. I won’t probably be getting back to the work on this for at least another week. I hope to have the two final projects I’m working on finished up by then. I’m also hoping to have my new Podcasting gear by then, actually it may be here by the end of the week, we’ll see. I can’t wait to really get going on this. I’m not exactly sure how I’m going to fair as a radio personality type.
  • What have We Learned Today…

Well, today has been an interesting one. It started with the guys not showing up at Perkins this morning. Oh well, I understand it’s early for them. We’ll work something out on Wednesday. My day at work was pretty good. I got a lot done. I had a good chat with Ginny over IM during lunch. She knew I was going to Grease on Sunday. She got on my case about somethings, I won’t mention them here, LOL. After work I headed off to Ronnevik’s to fix their computer. Got everything taken care of and hopefully things will be working a bit better for them. They treated me to a good home-cooked meal and some nice conversation. I got back home and checked email. I…

Devotions for Sacred Parenting #25: Stop Judging and Start Loving

“The sinful, selfish side of us truly wants and sometimes even expects a “perfect” child, but God doesn’t grant us “perfect” children in this fallen world—and even if he did, we imperfect parents would soon mess them up.” – Devotions for Sacred Parenting by Gary L. Thomas I’m pretty sure I’m not alone with finding myself in a situation with my kids where I’ve thought to myself “why can’t my kids just behave? What’s wrong with them?”. The second question is normally followed up with the fact that my daughter is special needs, and that’s the “problem”. However, as I continue to learn God is in the business of changing lives, and he’s sure working to change me. Every day I see areas that I…

    Just A Short One

Well, here I am in the wee hours of the night. So the pleasant act of IMing and playing music caught me up tonight. I pretty much got my taxes done, and it looks like a good tax return. Too bad I have debt, I go out any buy one of them fancy 5G iPods, 🙂 Well, I’m hoping in the next couple of years to have all the small debt paid off. Then it’ll just be down to the big stuff like the car & house. I didn’t get my devotions in this morning like I had hoped, was up too late again of course. However, I wasn’t going to let my day go by without spending some time in the Word. So I…
