Prayer, Worry, and Thankfulness

Prayer is not always easy for me, especially when I’m compelled to do it all on my own. We live in a world that perpetuates​ that thinking. Good wants us not only to bring Him our needs but wants us to come to Him with be thanks when things are going well. It’s easy to forget to go to God in the good times but that’s like never hanging out with your friends but just going to them when you need something. Most of us don’t like to be in that kind of relationship very long. How do we think God feels about is h having that kind of relationship with Him?

    iTunes 5 Not Ready for Prime Time…

    So I got home tonight and wanted to checkout the news from Apple today. I saw the ads for the new iPod Neo and the iTunes phone. I also saw that there was a new iTunes 5. I went to Software Updates and upgraded my iTunes, I’ve done this in the past without problems. Well it totally messed up my iTunes Library along with my Podcast subscriptions. Popped on over to the Apple Forums and of course a lot of people are having this problem. Well I made the decision to revert back to iTunes 4.9. It took a little but to track down an iTunes 4.9 installer. Got it downloaded removed iTunes 5, along with all my iTunes receipts, and restored my iTunes Library…

  • Time To Get Serious: A Tough Subject

    Nahum 1:2-6, a God of wrath. The fact that God cannot stand sin, and actually dishes out His wrath because of it, brings a clearer picture of our need for the forgiveness we have through Christ. I think too often we only talk about the love of God, and we don’t see His love in it’s context. God’s love comes to use through Christ. I think we can sometimes easily forget that there really is one single condition of God’s love, that is comes through Christ.

    So now my special someone is all the buzz with those that know me. Everyone wants to hear more about how things went, and what the scoop is. I even got asked did you get engaged. The answer to that is no. That is something that is in God’s hands and His timing. Whether He chooses to lead us to that or not I will consider myself blessed to have Vanessa in my life.     God’s Timing…Not Ours

    (Exodus 11:1-10) Looking again at the story of Moses being used by God to bring the Isrealites out of Egypt, we can see that things didn’t go as the people, or Moses, had hoped. God, however, had a perfect plan in mind. I’ve talked about it before, but once again I am reminded, that in all things God has a plan for us. I really like both Proverbs 19:21 and also Proverbs 16:9, they both make it very clear that even though we may have something in mind, it’s ultimately God who is in control.     What Has Today Brought?

    I’d haveto say that all-in-all it was a decent day. I would have preferred to get a bit farther along in my data-entry, I spent a good portion of the day generating mailing lists. I would have to say that about the best parts of today were getting up early and having some good devotion time and breakfast before I headed off to work. I think both of those things have proven to make my mornings more productive. This evening wasn’t too bad. I didn’t get quite as much accomplished tonight as I had hoped but I did manage to have a rather tasty steak and potato supper, I also began creating an actual budget I hope to be sticking by.
