12 Minute Fitness Level Test Run On A Brisk Fall Morning

While we all have been impacted by this pandemic the biggest impact is on those that were already struggling. We can’t let the pandemic keep us from continuing to help those in need. We just have to find safe ways of doing that. Despite the pandemic there is still a great need for water, so I continue to run. #HWI #Run4Water #RiverBankRun Give to clean water: https://timn.me/2020HWI I was surprised to see an evaluation run come up so early in the training plan. I didn’t take a good look at the overall plan initially so I’ll have a hard time gauging what adjustments will have been made to my plan. So far the easy runs have been way slower than in used to, and I’ve…

Having Choices And Choosing To Run

Every day most of us, in the U.S. especially, have a dozen choices we can make. I had the choice to either get up at 4:30 am and run or stay in bed and sleep. Not to minimize those that do have some tough decisions to make, but in the big picture most of us have pretty easy decisions, compared to those in Sierra Leone. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

    Eating Right For Running

As my wife and I have been on a journey of eating healthy, and being more active, I’m always interested in ideas for new recipes or things to try for snacks/meals/etc. Following some of the activity tracking app blogs or other runner blogs is always a good source of ideas. 4 Recipes for Runners: Eat Right – Run Better https://www.runtastic.com/blog/en/nutrition/4-recipes-for-runners-eat-right-run-better-2/ https://www.runtastic.com/blog/en/nutrition/dairy-free-carrot-walnut-cookie-recipe/

    Keeping The Trots At Bay

This morning the wheels pretty much fell off my 6.5 mile run. As you can see I really only got a little more than 4 miles in. I had to stop because I just couldn’t keep jostling things around and keep the trots from hitting me. I did manage to get another really slow 1.5 miles in after that but it was still rough. I’m not sure exactly what the cause was but I do know that I haven’t been exactly eating great the last few weeks. Hopefully this next week I can get back in my groove. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

My Longest Run Since The 2019 GR Marathon

Most children in Sierra Leone don’t get to be “just kids” like kids can in America. Many children are the ones responsible for gathering the water that their entire family needs for the day. This results in either no education, or very little. Bringing more clean water to Africa means a better future for the children. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Help Bring Clean Water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr I almost got 9 miles in, which is almost 3 miles beyond the farthest distance I’ve run since finishing the #GRMarathon in October. It definitely felt harder on the last half than the 1st half. I’m glad I was able to get through it without getting let cramps again.
