So yesterday I happened to PR for a half marathon. The “problem” is that it was only a half marathon training run for a half I’m doing in July. My Endomondo training plan has my goal set for a 9:22min/mi pace come race day. Well I ended up blowing that time out of the water by finishing a training run half marathon with an 8:49min/mi pace. So I think my current goal is too conservative. It probably doesn’t help that I continually keep pushing myself beyond the training plan paces. I have a hard time managing my pace.

Christmas decorations and tree up, now it’s Jenga time.
Just a short training run this morning, an easy 5K. There was a fresh blanket of snow for the run this morning. It was a nice crisp morning for running. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Give A Christmas Gift of Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
Support education in Africa through clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #Education Clean water doesn’t only save lives in Africa, it also helps promote education and a brighter future for children. Instead of young boys and girls having to make the trip to retrieve water for the family they can spend their time in school furthering their education.
Great weather for an early morning run with some #worship music and #prayer. #hwi #training #HessLakeRun #Run4Water

Last year I was just an attendee but this year I stepped things up in a pretty bug way. I was not only a volunteer at the Happiness Bar, but I helped with organize the event, and was even one of the speakers. One of the things I love about #WordCamp Grand Rapids, and the #WordPress community is the people. Yet again I felt welcomed as a member of the community, valued for my experiences as a developer and user of WordPress, and encouraged when I had doubts of being…
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT As Christian husbands, and fathers, we are in a battle every day for our families. And each day we have the opportunity to do something to continue the fight. “…the more we keep our bodies fit and free from addictions and stuff that slows us down and causes problems, the more energetic and focused we will be to fight those battles for…
