Feeling Like An Intense 5K Run

As I hit the pavement this morning I felt like just kicking into high gear for the entire run. I’m not quite sure that it was an overall lifetime for a but I’m pretty sure I finished better than more recent 5K times. What’s crazy is that it wasn’t like I had gotten extra sleep last night or had taken some time off running. I know turning on the new Christian Workout/Running playlist helped. Maybe since I’m on the taper for the marathon, and the miles aren’t as high, I’m just feeling like I have more energy. I won’t be pushing it this hard tomorrow as Thursdays are usually the intense interval run days and I need to make sure I don’t wipe myself out for that.

    Unusual Running For A Wednesday

I waivered on whether to go out and run or break out the treadmill this morning. For me I figure if I’ve ran part of a marathon in a cold downpouring rain I can handle a 50 degree sprinkle for a free miles. In general I will always opt for the outdoors versus the treadmill. I found a new worship running album on Google Play Music this morning which I really enjoyed, and felt God had wanted me to hear that specific selection of songs this morning. I spent a chunk of time praying for the guys in my accountability group. Seems like more than ever lately all of us have felt attacked or at a low point. I’m thankful to have a group of…

    Keeping The Trots At Bay

This morning the wheels pretty much fell off my 6.5 mile run. As you can see I really only got a little more than 4 miles in. I had to stop because I just couldn’t keep jostling things around and keep the trots from hitting me. I did manage to get another really slow 1.5 miles in after that but it was still rough. I’m not sure exactly what the cause was but I do know that I haven’t been exactly eating great the last few weeks. Hopefully this next week I can get back in my groove. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

The Keyword is “Since” Not “If”

As a follow up to my previous post it’s important that we remember that everything we are called to do as a Christ follower is in the context of “since” and not “if”. What’s the difference? If we have the thinking, “if someone is doing ‘x’, or not doing ‘y’, they can’t be a believer”, we are basically inferring that someone has no faith or belief in Christ because of their actions. That’s a pretty big leap, and a sure fire way to further the view that Christians are righteous, judgemental, hippacrits, essentially modern day Pharisees. As we dig into the New Testament we’ll find it’s very clear that as a result of being, or “since” we are, Christ followers there should be a lot…
