Completing My 2020 Virtual Grand Rapids Half Marathon
To be honest, this morning didn’t feel like marathon day. It pretty much felt like any other morning I get up while it’s still dark, and everyone else is asleep, to go for a run. #GRMarathon #Run4Water #HWI This year has been a challenging one for running, and races, that is for sure. Most races were cancelled, postponed, or changed to virtual. My training has been all on my own, and when the pandemic hit I stopped sharing all of my runs on social media. Life wasn’t “business as usual” and I really couldn’t maintain a facade like it was. As I headed off camping with the family this weekend I was choosing what to bring to keep my phone charged. When you are a tent camping family you only have so much room. Today was a speed work day, and so it goes with those my mind was pretty much totally focused on my run and hitting the target paces. I did still have the worship music going so I was at least still able to connect with God that way. This morning was an evaluation run, but things weren’t so easy given that it had snowed and the sidewalks were more slick than I had anticipated. Not much else to share when I have these short intense runs.
