The Goodness of Things…
So despite the disappointments that come my way. Life is good. At times I wish for things I think would make life better: more friends my age, my dream job, more money, a significant other. Today God has reminded me of all the blessings he has given me: my job, the friends I do have, exactly enough money to take care of myself, and a relationship with Him. I know I can seem like the most unhappy, unsatisfied person when you read my posts. Things aren’t usually as bad as I might make them sound. My biggest struggle is this whole area of relationships. Satan knows this is my button. He manages to push that at every opportunity. Well, I have great friends that continue…God’s Timing…Not Ours
(Exodus 11:1-10) Looking again at the story of Moses being used by God to bring the Isrealites out of Egypt, we can see that things didn’t go as the people, or Moses, had hoped. God, however, had a perfect plan in mind. I’ve talked about it before, but once again I am reminded, that in all things God has a plan for us. I really like both Proverbs 19:21 and also Proverbs 16:9, they both make it very clear that even though we may have something in mind, it’s ultimately God who is in control. It can be very hard to accept God’s control and plan for our lives, especially when we have to deal with tough stuff. It can be very easy for us…
Back At It With The Daybreak Group Runs
My phone died and my watch powered off at around the 5 mile mark. I ended up doing 7.5 miles by the finish. This was my longest run to date. I’m feeling a little more comfortable with the idea of doing the half marathon in the fall. [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’885243077′] Daybreak
Getting In Some Miles Early On A Wet Wednesday
As I was running in the rain this morning it got me thinking about the hardship that the rainy season causes for many in Sierra Leone. Like those that work for Enable The Children, the children with disabilities ministry, and those that #ETC supports. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun It’s crazy to think that something like rain, which should be a blessing to a people in desperate need of clean water, could cause hardship. For many though, the rainy season makes it challenging to get around and do things like sell their goods at the market. A well also brings safety during the rainy season both from a health standpoint as well as from the risks of trying to gather water from moving water like streams. Help…
Pulling Out The Face Mask For A Tough Winter Run
This morning I believe the wind chill was around, or below, zero. That meant it was time to finally break out the face mask, especially for a long hour+ run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun #Winter #mask
Cool And Comfortable 14 Mile Training Run
Had a nice cool 14 mile run this morning. It’s amazing how much cooler temperatures make a difference in how you feel on the longer runs. Felt great all the way to the end. It was a bit shorter run than last week of course. Loved seeing everyone out for the group run this morning. I was glad to have gotten the 14 miles wrapped up just in time for the start of group run. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water Walker, Michigan, USA
