    An Early Morning 8.5 Before A Family Day

    Finally getting this posted. It was a busy, but fun, family day. I needed to get my run done early but I still finished with some daylight. I am committed to my training but I’m always trying my best to not let it negatively impact my family.     A Little Bit of Hill Training

    I haven’t run into a race course yet that didn’t have some hills. When you are training it’s important to do some hill training if you don’t want to get caught off guard with hills during your race. Between sidewalks and paved trails, we are pretty blessed with the conditions we have to run in. In stark contrast, for most in #SierraLeone the road to water is dangerous.     Thanksgiving Training Run

    Got my own little 10k+ Turkey Trot in this morning. Staying on course as I train for the #GroundhogDayMarathon in February. Looking to represent the #HWI team at that event. After having my water freezing on me this morning I can already tell this is going to be an interesting training season. Oh, it looks like I happen to #PR this morning, which wasn’t my intention, but it happened so that made for a nice way to start off the #Thanksgiving day.     Feeling Like An Intense 5K Run

    As I hit the pavement this morning I felt like just kicking into high gear for the entire run. I’m not quite sure that it was an overall lifetime #PR for a #5K but I’m pretty sure I finished better than more recent 5K times. What’s crazy is that it wasn’t like I had gotten extra sleep last night or had taken some time off running. I know turning on the new Christian Workout/Running playlist helped. Maybe since I’m on the taper for the marathon, and the miles aren’t as high, I’m just feeling like I have more energy. I won’t be pushing it this hard tomorrow as Thursdays are usually the intense interval run days and I need to make sure I don’t wipe…

    Not Quite A 5K, But A PR Nonetheless

    After an 11 mile Tuesday run today seemed like it was barely worth getting out of bed for, but it is a necessary part of the training plan in order for it to be adjusted for how I’m actually doing. No worries about the lack of distance today as I believe I’m set to do a half marathon training run on Saturday. I was sort of hoping I might hit the 5K mark this morning but I was bit shy of that.
