Taking On The Wet And Windy Tuesday Run

It was a kind of interesting morning, weather wise. There was some big thunder before 4am but when I got outside for my morning run there wasn’t much for rain, just some sprinkles and mist off-and-on. The wind came and went as well. The crazy thing once again is to see my pace improve of the course of my run. Instead of what one would normally see, where your pace might get slower over the course of a run, for me my pace got better the longer I ran. It was a good morning for a run all around.

Only a few more weeks until the #RiverBank and I think I’m feeling good about my training so far.

    First “Long Run” of 2021

Started of this new year with a 10K Saturday “long run”, as my training plan called it. It was a tough run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun #Hello2021 #NewYear I can tell that this past year has taken a toll on my health. Unfortunately I’m a stress eater. I think food has always been something that I’ve used to feel good. Of course, when you live a pretty sedentary lifestyle, that causes weight gain and I struggled with that for many years. I haven’t gained all of the weight back that I lost a few years ago, staying active and running has helped with that. However, my eating habits this past year started to regress. I need to get back in track this year. I signed…

Back Running With The Hope Water Team

I’m definitely well on the way to recovery. I enjoyed a nice Saturday group run with the #HWI Daybreak Team. Great conversations with Todd, Nate, and Josh. It was a nice change of pace to just get out there and run and have no agenda in regards to distance or any specific pace. I definitely took Ron’s advice today and just had fun. I’m also excited to see a bunch of guys taking the next step and moving from their half marathon last year to a full this year. I think it might have pushed me into the decision to do another full marathon this year. I feel like having completed 3 marathons I can share my own experience to help others succeed in finishing…

    Kicking Things Up A Notch

Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
  • Packed And Ready For Sierra Leone

On Sunday our team met and got all the supplies packed up for our trip. This week we have all been making final preparations for the trip. I’m planning on posting regular updates to my blog which you can also subscribe to as well. Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”  Isaiah 6:8 NLT
