Nearing The End Of The Marathon Training, Only One More To Go

2nd to the last marathon training run today. Since I took a break yesterday in order to get some extra rest I decided to stick with the plan which called for some speed work, well sort of. ? I spent the slower end of the run lifting many of my family up in prayer, in addition to those in Africa that are still waiting for access to clean water. Our world is full of both physical and spiritual needs. When we take care of the physical needs it paves the way for the spiritual needs.

    Giving Your Time And Attention

Nothing can replace time. Kids don’t need things; they need time. YouVersion plan ‘Better Together’. Check it out here:http://bible.com/r/Qc Just last night I had the opportunity to help start the Watch D.O.G.S. program at my children’s elementary school. One of the reasons for this is put together so nicely in my devotions this morning, showing our kids how important they are by giving them time. The essence of relationships is not what we do for each other or what we give to each other. The essence of relationships is how much of ourselves we give to each other. Sluggish Training Run But Thinking of ETC

Another training run in the books. I could definitely feel the soreness in my legs from the half marathon still. I could also tell that some bad eating the previous few days was affecting how I was feeling while running. I really need to get back on track with things. I did enjoy another day of switching up my running routes. Alimamy, our Enable The Children sponsored child, was on my mind early in my run since we got our welcome packet the day before. I’m torn knowing that life for a disabled person in Sierra Leone is a drastically harder life compared to the U.S. I pray that God would continue to bring more light and opportunities to the children of #ETC. #HWI #GRMarathon…

Back In The High [Intensity] Life Again

After a brief hiatus on Tuesday, no thanks to a cold and a bad nights rest, I was back out for my early morning run. I really had my butt kicked with a high intensity interval run. I think my only slight advantage was have a previous week of out of the park fast runs. I could sure tell that I had missed a day of running though. Regardless of how tough it might have been it still felt good to be back out running. On Tuesday when I didn’t get out for my run the whole day seemed off. I’m not sure how I’m going to get my Saturday run in with being out of town in a trip to Chicago. We’ll see. #HWI…

Better Together: Share Your Life With Others

Community is God’s answer to despair. You were made to share your life with others! Now is the time to find the people who will support you through life, who will rejoice with you in your victories and weep with you in your trouble. Day 3 of the @YouVersion plan ‘Better Together’ (http://bible.com/r/Qc) “Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.” Romans 12:15 NLT (https://bible.com/bible/116/rom.12.15.NLT)

What Does It Mean When A Pandemic Hits A Country Already In Need

As I ran another 5 miles this morning I couldn’t help but think about the added struggle #COVID19 is now causing in Sierra Leone. I don’t think anyone complaining about the U.S. hardships has even thought about the fact that we still have it pretty good compared to places like Sierra Leone. With all of our indoor plumbing we don’t have to think about travelling 2 miles to a crowded well to gather water. A country like Sierra Leone is between a rock and a hard place when any epidemic hits. How can anyone survive a stay-at-home order if they don’t have water at home for both drinking and sanitation. The only hope they have is organizations like World Hope, and other NGOs, trying to…
