Saturday Morning Groundhog Day Marathon Course Training Run

Knocked out 18 miles this morning with my running partner. We decided to take on the Groundhog Day Marathon course near Millennium Park, 4 laps of the course. It was a good practice run. I’m glad we still have another month n of training to go as I could definitely feel the last couple of miles of just the 18. I thought the weather was pretty good for an early morning run.

    I got back outside and returned to using Endomondo for my 5k training. Today’s training had 10 very fast intervals which really seemed to kick my butt by the last couple but I made it through. I did have a personal best for a 5K which was awesome given I’ve been out of it for a week. Was glad to be outside and back into the running routine.     Day Of Visits And Experiences

    We started our day at the World Hope International offices with introductions of some of the key staff that are involved with putting in wells. We also got briefed on some things to expect for the day and coming week. After our time meeting with the staff we got a tour of the drilling equipment and storage by Eugene. Eugene is from Nigeria and was brought to World Hope in Sierra Leone to lead the drilling teams. The tour included a lot of details on what the different equipment is used for in the process of drilling wells. There was so much I never realized went into drilling a well.     All Registered For The Next Journey

    I’m officially registered for the GR Half Marathon. Looking forward to the journey and the community! What a great night for the Hope Water kick off! I’ll be doing the half marathon, which seems crazy, but my wife is my inspiration. I also can’t wait to be a part of the the amazing work God is doing with the Hope Water Team to provide clean water to people in Africa. So proud of my wife who is joining the team headed to Africa in a week to dedicate some of the wells the team helped to put in and serve the people.
