Seeking God’s Direction When Looking Out On The Horizon

Both my wife an I are going through a low point where neither of us feels we have clear direction on where we are headed. Specifically, where and how we are to be serving. I thought I had some clear direction but a week ago that all seemed to change. I’m finding myself questioning a lot of things right now. It’s difficult to weather the storm when things start to fall apart. One thing is clear though, that no matter where in the journey we find ourselves God is right there to walk with us through it. We’ll see what this next season brings for our family. One thing is for sure, given that both my wife and I feel like we are at the same limbo place, we both feel like God is about to reveal something just over the horizon. Good or bad, we’ll get through it.

    Just Another Quick One

    So it won’t be long, of course it’s getting late again. Well I think I can count like 5 books I’m now in the process of reading…probably going to add another couple more before the month even starts I think. I’m sort of overwhelmed, but at the same time I’m kind of happy to actually be doing some reading. When I was a lot younger I used to read a lot.   • Warning: Google Video Not Safe

    So, I just wanted to post this out there to warn anyone that I know. I decided to check out what was new with Google Video and took a look by the Top 100 list. To my horror I found that, at least by the description, that Google Video is not safe from a content perspective. The top videos had some sort of sexual or perhaps even pornographic description. One nice thing is that Google does provide a way to report a movie because of this type of issue, however there still isn’t any safe way to browse Google Video. They even list in their FAQ that they dont’ have SafeSearch working yet for Google Video. This is a huge mistake on their part I…

    What Have I Gotten Myself Into…?

    OK, let’s recap the day first. Got up at 5:30 this morning. Had some good time before work. I still really feel getting up at 5:00 would be better, I just can’t get to bed very early, grrr. Work was good today. I feel like I’m finally getting caught up with stuff. Yes! That’ll probably jinks it, LOL. I’m finding that I’m going to have to do some research to find a better system for the free church websites we’re providing. I might have to do something custom, so long as it’s easy to use.   • Update, Long Overdue…

    I’ve been married now for about 2.5 months. Married life has been what I hoped and more, some good and some challenging. We’ve gotten into more of a routine now, but not so much that life isn’t interesting. We’ve been trying to work on the house. A few weekends ago we put up gutters. That was an interesting job, with some challenges, but it’s all good. We’ll be doing some yard work in another few weeks. Once the grass grows back I think we’ll have a pretty nice front yard.     What A Sermon…

    Well, I did manage to make it to the fellowship time before church. I have to say I was a little disapointed to find no Sunday School class that was directed for my age. I was kind of feeling like an island again. Not that it really matters that most of the guys at church that are my age are married, but I really feel like the odd person. I wanted to sit with someone my age that I knew, which ended up being all girls. That’s fine I guess but as I looked around I didn’t see any sinlge guys my age in the entire room. I feel like such a loser.
