A Brutal Winter Run
Wow, that is all I can say about the weather this morning on my run. Between the freezing rain pelting me, the massive wind gusts, and the snow-covered sidewalks that reduced my traction to almost zero, let’s just say I felt like I ran 12 miles not just shy of 6. I laugh because today was supposed to be an easy run day, and with that pace you might think I took it slow but that wasn’t really what went down. Mornings like this make it hard to focus on much else than the will power to keep going and get it done. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Tackling The Ice Mounds, An Endurance Test
It was a tough go of it this morning tackling the ice mounds left behind by the snow plows. Winter running is not the time to be working on speed that is for sure. Many times I had to take to running on the snow covered grassy areas in order not to trip and fall. I should stress here the importance of wearing proper footwear when running in the winter, and that means wearing some sort of cleats. Pushing Through An Intense Speed Test Run
Back at it again this morning. It was an intense short training test run. I was hoping to see a #5K #PR but that may have to wait until Saturday when I do the #HotCiderHustle 5K. I had just ran the night before so my body hadn’t really had a ton of recovery time. I’ll be looking forward to representing #HWI at the Hot Cider Hustle.
