Running With Purpose And Hope

I really worked on trying to keep it an easy run, and not push myself so hard, this morning. I made a point of listening to my heart rate, especially for a long easy run. I definitely had a lot on my mind. When I start lifting people, and needs, up to God in prayer I so easily hey overwhelmed with all the needs of so many that I know. Some days it feels like the world is just such a disaster.

Something hit me this morning though. Seeking God’s will and plan for your life was never presented as making for an easy life. The very fact that Jesus said “take up your cross and follow me” is pretty self-explanatory on what that is going to mean for your life. The hope comes from know that we don’t have it do it alone, Christ is there every step of the way. Especially when we run. ? #SauconyRunChallenge

Best 5K Yet, But What’s The Goal

I still think I want to do the Grand Rapids Half Marathon this fall so I will need to do serious training for that distance. I…

Running In The Rain, Preparing For Anything Come Race Day

Today was the last training run before the #RiverBankRun and it was a rainy one at that. I haven’t looked at the forecast for Saturday but when it comes to races you have to be ready for anything. 2 years ago the Grand Rapids Marathon started in a down pour. If you are going to be training for a race your going to he better off going out and training in all weather. If you’ve avoided running in the rain your whole training and it ends up rainy on race day you are going to have a toug time. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

Fight The Fight, Finish The Race, Keep The Faith

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7‭-‬8 NLT As Christian husbands, and fathers, we are in a battle every day for our families. And each day we have the opportunity to do something to continue the fight. “…the more we keep our bodies fit and free from addictions and stuff that slows us down and causes problems, the more energetic and focused we will be to fight those battles for…
