Life Without Internet…Wednesday
So back to Wednesday…it was a bit of a crazy day, as most Wednesdays are. I basically headed straight to church after work. I had Sunday Morning Worship Team practice before youth group. I started early with just Brad. It can be a real challenge for me as I’m not used to playing in more of a backup role on the guitar. I feel pretty clueless as to how to play. What didn’t help matters either was that a lot of the songs I either didn’t know or have never played on the guitar. (I’ve since remedy some of this by more practicing on my own, and I found a couple of the songs on iTunes as we play them. My life is in the machine…
Well, I’m dead tired and I’m sitting here with a dead machine. I’m feeling the curse of the dry winter air. I walked up to my laptop at work today and zap. I thought that I got by lucky as I was able to start it up and work on it awhile, can’t remember how long. When I got to my parents tonight I found that after about 15 minutes of use the machine locks up tight. I’m having serious doubts it’s just a software issue. It’s not the new 1GB stick of memory, as I’ve tried running with that pulled, so that’s good I guess. Now I’m stuck with what to do next. I’ve got so many things I need to use that thing… Computer Upgrades on Order…
Well today I bit the bullet and ordered some upgrades for my laptop. I’m getting a 1GB stick of RAM & a 100GB hard drive. Home Missions is going to buy the 512MB stick of memory that is currently in my laptop. I figured that I best do this now while I have the money, and a way to sell the 512MB stick. With having the digital camera now and getting more website jobs I need the storage space too, I’ve only got like 6GB free right now. So sometime next week I should have everything in the machine. The Time Has Come…
Well, for those that have long awaited a post to thie fabulous blog, here we go. This will probably be a short one. So much has been going on since my last post, actually a lot happened through December that I didn’t even get time to write about. I’m really looking forward to life settling down a bit. The first day of youth group begins tomorrow, and we had are first youth praise team meeting today, since Christmas that is. Tonight we just came up with a list of songs we want to do this winter/spring. I’ll be putting together the set lists and get them all the songs. I’ve even created a schedule that will be available online as well. I’m looking forward to… Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
(Proverbs 27:1-3) What a day today was. Surprises at every turn. So this morning I used my “snow blower” for the first time. I’m sorry to say (Mom & Dad 🙁 ), that that thing is not much more than a gas-powered shovel. I think I could have do it by hand faster. Well, can’t complain about the price I guess. Got to work with an unplowed parking lot, but behold there was 1 clearly open spot for me to park, yeah! It was nice to have gotten up at 5:30 again. I was feel pretty good today, pretty much back to my old self. Well after continuous looks at the UPS package tracking it appeared that I wouldn’t get my new PowerBook until tomorrow….iTunes 5 Not Ready for Prime Time…
So I got home tonight and wanted to checkout the news from Apple today. I saw the ads for the new iPod Neo and the iTunes phone. I also saw that there was a new iTunes 5. I went to Software Updates and upgraded my iTunes, I’ve done this in the past without problems. Well it totally messed up my iTunes Library along with my Podcast subscriptions. Popped on over to the Apple Forums and of course a lot of people are having this problem. Well I made the decision to revert back to iTunes 4.9. It took a little but to track down an iTunes 4.9 installer. Got it downloaded removed iTunes 5, along with all my iTunes receipts, and restored my iTunes Library…
