A Verse That Describes The Church In Kathirie Sierra Leone

“They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.” – 2 Corinthians 8:2 NLT

This morning at Daybreak this verse was one that was part of Pastor Wes’ message. As it was being read I instantly began remembering my experience at the Sunday morning service in Kathirie. As I watched the church members give the morning offerings, giving not only to the general offering but also to a building fund and missions, I could only think about the amazing work God was doing in the village.

    Giving Thanks Even Through The Tough Times

    Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT There are days, sometimes even seasons, in our lives that are tough, even painful, and yet we still need to give thanks to God. No matter what valleys we end up in God is there and we can find some blessings in our lives. I’m glad to be reminded today that, despite feeling like everything is falling apart around me, God is still there and He has blessed me with a lot.

    Well, I know it’s been awhile since my last little updated, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Vanessa & I have been having a great time with our dance class. It’s so great to have someone to dance with, as I’ve wanted to get into dance for a long time. We haven’t been up to a whole lot over the past couple of weeks because Vanessa got sick and then had some back problems. I feel so bad for her, I wish that I could make her all better but only time and rest help to overcome those things. I’ve tried to help her out as much as I can.     When God Straightens Us Out, We Find Joy

    Well, I finaly made it up early today, and I had my time with God. What an incredible difference that makes. I feel like I got a lot accomplished today at work. I still have a pretty busy work day tomorrow but God has shown me the light. Tonight I was able to get yet another project completed. It looks like by next weeks end I should finally have my head above the water. I’m so thankful for the prayers and support I’ve gotten from people.
