Early Tuesday Morning Training Run For Clean Water

It’s a strange thing comparing your hot midday run to your cool early morning. I would have thought that I was going to knock my pace out of the park this morning but alas no. I have to believe that my lack of rest last night was a major contributor. The interesting thing was seeing my heart rate drop to the low to mid 130s during miles 5 & 6. I can only attribute that to my shower pace during those miles while I was pretty focused on prayer for family, friends, and those needing water in Sierra Leone, like the village of . I’m hoping to find those one again that are willing to partner with me to bring clean water to Africa as I commit to running the with again this year.

Wells in Africa have the potential to change who the next president or prime minister could be, or the next Olympic gold medalist, or the next major entrepreneur that could change the economic structure. Clean water changes the world and the future. What are we going to invest in, gathering some things that won’t last, or impacting our world and future generations?

Running Headstrong Into The Polar Vortex

Despite the wind and snow I made pretty decent time. When I got to areas where the snow wasn’t blowing it was a pretty nice light snowfall morning. I spent some of the time praying for the members of our Sierra Leone team and for the experience we will have. Prayed for our need of another lady on the team as well. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Stepping Back To Step It Up

As I keep working on getting back into a regular running routine the part that is also key is the “why” behind it. The mission of raising money, and awareness of the need, for wells in Africa is not complete. That is a message that doesn’t end during the “off” season. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Help Continue The Mission: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr I decided to cut back my miles today with the hope of preventing leg cramps. I didn’t have it initially in mind to kick the speed up but run started so well that’s what ended up happening. The last mile was a bit tougher which brought my average pace down, but I was still plenty happy with how I did compared to the day before.

Tackling A Rainy And Intense Fitness Level Run

Despite it being a rainy morning it still felt good to be out for a run. After the 2017 #GRMarathon downpour, and consistent winter training, I’m pretty much good to run in anything. If you are going to run a race outside you have to train in everything if you want to be prepared. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
