Far And Few Between…

I know it can only be a quick one. I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post. I remember the days when I could barely posting only single entry each day on my blog. I’m really thinking once life settles down a little, that I really want to get back into at least giving some updates with what Vanessa and I are up to.

Only 19 more days until I’ll be a married man! I really can hardly believe it. And the thing that seems even more amazing is that I’m going to be marrying an unbelievable and amazing woman like Vanessa. I only wish that it was easier for everyone that I know from back in MN to have the time to get to know her as I do.

I still wonder at times what there can really be about me that has put the desire in Vanessa to want to be my wife. It really seems like she could do a lot better than me. The thing that I truly believe however, is that this wasn’t something that Vanessa and I did. I can only see that God has had a bigger plan for bringing us together than we could have ever seen. I know that both of us can look back on our pasts and wonder how it is that it took those things to bring us together now. Why couldn’t we have found each other years ago? I think God’s plans and timing are always better than anything we can come up with. Yesterday evening, after watching a wonderful movie “Facing the Giants”, I broke down in tears of joy as I looked back on how God took the last 10 years of my life to prepare me for the life I’m about to begin with Vanessa. And I was amazed at how God answered my desire in His perfect timing. There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t thank God for bringing Vanessa and I together. How great, how true, and faithful He is. We serve an amazing God!

  • Another Day of Wireless…

    Well, today I was working a lot with tweaking the wireless setup on the laptops. I was able to get them to authenticate and login to the domain all wirelessly. Only problem is this was through the IBM ThinkPad wireless configuration tool. I need to figure out how to configure this via straight Windows XP. Then the next step is can a Mac do this? Phil is connected via wireless in his iMac. And it would be good if it could do the same thing. More Googling and research.

    So yes that’s a rather yuk-yuk pun. Just giving a little update as to the latest in the saga called my life. Oh, and don’t take that the wrong way, it was only ment in a rather sarcastic way. So on with it…I received my first offer on my house. It really isn’t what I’m hoping to get. The reality is if I was desperate I might take it, however that is not the case. I just can’t accept an offer that won’t give me the ability to actually make the move to Michigan.     To Blog or Not To Blog, Why Not

    As I was looking over the days RSS feeds I came across a news story on Digg by a mother. I just had to think again about this whole business of blogging. Even this past weekend as I looked through the classified ads that Vanessa had saved for me there was an article that talked about the dangers of blogging and trying to get a job. While I wouldn’t consider my blog to contain much of anything that is questionable, I still wonder about it all. I wonder if I should be so willing to participate in something that has so many dangers? Does my very involvement promote the activity to the youth that I am in contact with each week?     Well, today I got one more project off the list, YES! I kind of waivered between my final project and the Faith Shaping project today. It was so hard to resist not working on the Faith Shaping stuff. You can check out the progress of the project at https://www.faithshaping.org/. I did repost my test recording on that site.     Putting Wood On The Fire

    Put more wood into the fire by accompanying your partner to his/her favourite place. – Day 1, Refresh Your Marriage In 31 Days I can definitely see that the busyness of life makes it more challenging to keep the “wood fires burning” of marriage. Marriage takes work and especially intentional action to keep plain selfishness at bay. If we would keep our focus on serving in our marriage then love would be more readily felt. I need to plan to be intentional about this each day.
