Running In The Rain, Preparing For Anything Come Race Day

Today was the last training run before the and it was a rainy one at that. I haven’t looked at the forecast for Saturday but when it comes to races you have to be ready for anything. 2 years ago the Grand Rapids Marathon started in a down pour. If you are going to be training for a race your going to he better off going out and training in all weather. If you’ve avoided running in the rain your whole training and it ends up rainy on race day you are going to have a toug time.

Completing My 2020 Virtual Grand Rapids Half Marathon

To be honest, this morning didn’t feel like marathon day. It pretty much felt like any other morning I get up while it’s still dark, and everyone else is asleep, to go for a run. #GRMarathon #Run4Water #HWI This year has been a challenging one for running, and races, that is for sure. Most races were cancelled, postponed, or changed to virtual. My training has been all on my own, and when the pandemic hit I stopped sharing all of my runs on social media. Life wasn’t “business as usual” and I really couldn’t maintain a facade like it was. I did commit to running my 2020 Grand Rapids Half Marathon as a virtual run despite the offer to defer to next year. This morning…

Kicking Off The Week With A Nice Run

This morning was one of those slow to get out of bed mornings. Once I got out and started breathing in some fresh crisp morning air I was awake and ready to roll. Especially after hitting play on the workout worship music. The first half of my run was time to just enjoy the worship music, the second half of my run I spent a lot of time in prayer. The combination of prayer, worship, and running it’s kind of a trifecta for me. I’m blessed that God had bought me to this place. And to top that all off I can use my running to have a global reach in helping bring clean water to those in need. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Donate to…

Great HWI Group Run, And A Personal Best

Had a great HWI Team Daybreak Group Run this morning. I love our community, and I especially love running with someone else. Training on your own definitely takes a lot of discipline, and having these group runs make for a great motivator to keep going during the week. I’m hopeful that I can join a couple guys I’ve been running with during the week for some training runs. Oh, and to top things off I hit a Personal Best this morning for a 1 hour run. Great way to kick off the day and weekend! [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’931912560′ ] Walker, Michigan, United States of America

5 Mile Labor Of Love On Labor Day

Help bring a brighter future through clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #CleanWater A well in Africa may not look like much, it’s not fancy, but it literally can mean the difference between life and death for children and families. I’m $875 away from hitting my $1000 fundraising goal. Right now we have matching funds available, so this means every dollar someone gives is two. It’s the best time to give and have your gift doubled. I had a good Monday recovery run this morning. Once I got in the groove things felt great. I was pleasantly surprised when my trudging along at the start actually turned out to be a faster pace than it felt like.

    A Tough Thursday Interval Run

When you don’t get a good night’s rest it definitely has an impact on your running. This morning was especially touch trying to keep up with the fast interval paces. Trying to make my way through the snowy sidewalks didn’t help matters either. My running struggles pale in comparison to the struggles many face each day with finding water, and usually it’s not clean. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Help provide clean water. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
