I really didn’t want to get up this morning but I wanted to get 1 more run in before heading to #SierraLeone #Africa tomorrow. Despite having to drag myself out of bed I got another #PR for farthest distance in 1 hour, not bad. Once I got out there I could feel all the #stress of this week dissipate. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water
After a late night with not quite enough sleep, and still feeling some tired legs, I didn’t do the training plan’s optional additional 15 minute run. These days running has been anything but routine. #HWI #Run4Water #GroundhogMarathon #Garmin #Running
“The sinful, selfish side of us truly wants and sometimes even expects a “perfect” child, but God doesn’t grant us “perfect” children in this fallen world—and even if he did, we imperfect parents would soon mess them up.” – Devotions for Sacred Parenting by Gary L. Thomas I’m pretty sure I’m not alone with finding myself in a situation with my kids where I’ve thought to myself “why can’t my kids just behave? What’s wrong with them?”. The second question is normally followed up with the fact that my daughter is special needs, and that’s the “problem”. However, as I continue to learn God is in the business of changing lives, and he’s sure working to change me. Every day I see areas that I…
Had a short easy run this morning, except for the snowplow covered sidewalks. I’m thankful for those that actually got out and cleared their sidewalks. Listening to worship music while I ran was good to my mind focused on why I run. Today is #GivingTuesday and there are matching funds available when giving to #HWI so I hope many take advantage of the opportunity to double their giving. Also, I did register for the #GroundhogDayMarathon so I’d love to have the support of people to help me reach that final $2000 goal. I only have $300 left to go. Six people could knock that out easily at $50 each. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Wells in Africa – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
This morning felt like a pretty big challenge. It being my 3rd 5K this week I just felt off from the start. After looking at my distance climbed I think I understand why today felt like so much of a struggle, I had about 90 feet of incline then my last 2 5Ks. Looks like the machine decided to take things up a notch today. I’m not unhappy with my pace. It just feels like I took a step back from the start of the week. I think my body is still recovering from lack of sleep since I was up way late the night before last. I hope it’ll work to make it to a HWP group run soon. Today was a speed work day, and so it goes with those my mind was pretty much totally focused on my run and hitting the target paces. I did still have the worship music going so I was at least still able to connect with God that way. Even though it was a wet run it did help to keep me cool, especially on the intense intervals. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr Hudsonville, MI
