    Kicking Things Up A Notch

Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

    Returning to Vitamin D3

After having had a few colds this past winter, and their negative effects on my running, I’ve decided to start taking vitamin D3 again. Having a cold while running was making it hard to breath and caused me to have a higher heartrate which was not great. I need to keep working on a the health journey I’ve been on and based on a lot of information I’ve listened to in the past most people in the U.S. are vitamin D3 deficient so it’s a good thing to do. Knocking Out Another Long Run With My Running Partner

It was a great morning for a long run with my running partner John. It was nice to have him help me keep a better pace throughout the run which actually resulted in an even better finish, both in pace and how I felt. Sometimes accountability it the best thing to keep you in track. I definitely feel more ready for the Groundhog Day Marathon now compared to some of my other recent runs. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus “If you want to run far, run in community. • Time For New Shoes

I’ve been running on these old shoes for some time. They’ve gotten pretty badly worn and it was high time I get new ones before I injured myself. Looking forward to my first run in them. A little bird (i.e. my wife) told me that a couple HWP Team Daybreak members have these shoes too.

Tackling The Saturday Morning Training Run

I was on the fence about going out this morning. I didn’t get a great night of sleep, and I woke up with a sore throat, so I was concerned whether doing 13 miles was a good idea. Once I actually got going things were good for the first 10 miles, it got a a little harder but I just stayed focused getting to the end and worried less about my pace. I enjoyed catching my longtime running partner, and his co-worker, as I passed by be his house on my run. Nice to have some encouragement along the way. I had a tough time after my run with my recovery. Helps to have home projects that needed my attention and to keep me going….
