First 5 Mile Thursday Training Run Together This Season
We’ve hit the 5 mile run mark now for Thursday’s. Had a great time running on an older route we haven’t done since last year. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4WaterA Run Focusing On The Physical Needs Of Others
Had a sluggish start this morning, but I pushed myself and got things improved my the end of my run. I did miss most of the rain, just got caught in some sprinkles during the last quarter mile. Most of my focus though was on those I know that have physical needs, including our Enable The Children sponsored child. It seems that the physical needs in our world almost match that of the spiritual need. And yet we see time and again that God uses those physical needs to bring people into relationship with Him. No training with my running partner this morning as he is doing a 5k this evening. Not a huge problem since I was needing to do a short speed & endurance test run this morning. We’ll see how it affects the rest of the training plan. Unfortunately, these sorts of runs end up resulting in me focusing only on the run and not much else. When clean water is brought to a community it’s not done suddenly and randomly then moving on to another random village. World Hope(#WHI) works with a carefully chosen village to establish ownership of the well by that village. The village agrees to manage and care for the well in order to serve their community for the long term. The are taught how to maintain and repair the well, and are tasked with protecting it as well. This model follows the saying, “Give a man a fish, feed him today.
