Running In The Heat, And A Johnny On The Way

Some may ask, after a few years of raising money for wells, “why more wells?”. What most don’t even think about is both the pros and the cons of a new well in a village. You may be surprised to even think that there could be a downside to a new well in a village. A new well not only provides for a village but now there are those outside the village they will come because the water source is closer. Some may even relocate to a village because there is a new water source that is readily available. So the reality of it is that the more wells there are for people the less strain there will be on a village, in more ways…

    A Bad Great Run

How can a great run be bad? When you are struggling to follow the plan and slow down. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Help bring clean water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr I know it probably sounds crazy that I’m saying it was bad to be going too fast, when many may feel like they can’t ever get faster. My problem is that I can’t sustain my faster pace for an entire full marathon, and I question even a half marathon right now. When I start too fast I use up so much energy that I hit a big wall too early on. Part of the reason for slower long runs is to build up endurance. Just pounding out the miles as fast as you can all the…

    Better Together: Community On Mission

God wants us to share that Good News. But you’re not alone! God wants you to go on mission with other people. Philippians 1:27 says, “You are standing side by side with one strong purpose — to tell the Good News” (TLB). Better Together Devotional God calls us to the #mission of sharing the Good News, but He doesn’t require us to do it all by ourselves. God gives us #community to share in the mission. “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting…

    Kicking Things Up A Notch

Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

    A Time of Pruning…?

Well, it sure seems like I’ve entered into a time of pruning. I got an email tonight that someone has been hired to redesign and take over the camp website. I really haven’t been involved with it much the past year, but it seems like my involvement with camp is coming more to a close. I still have mixed feelings about this. When you give so much towards something and then not be apart of it anymore it’s just kind of a strange feeling. I really hope that they will be served well. I’m kind of feeling a little lost now. I’m so used to having a load of things to do. If I don’t have a project to work on I’m not sure what…

Working Hard To Make It Easy

This morning during my prayer and worship time I immediately thought of the #EnableTheChildren staff and kids and the impact that rainy season has on them. I also focused on the #WorldHope teams as they work on drilling new wells. Praying for safety and success as the teams work to put the wells in that the #HWI team raised money for. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon
