“God offers a table to us, a place of rest and renewal and community, in the presence of our enemies. No matter where we are or what pounds at our door, He invites us to sit with Him and eat at His table.” SELAH | Defining Rest In The Age Of Productivity

One of the challenges I have is not getting upset with my kids. In turn that means not making my kids upset with the way I handle my frustrations with their behavior. I need to remember this verse every time I’m faced with training and disciplining my kids. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 NLT http://bible.com/116/eph.6.4.NLT
As I sat here thinking about how to safely write my thoughts, I began to be reminded of the life of Christ and his actions. I’m thinking of how he was viewed by those around him. Is it not true that Christ did things that were against the culture of the times, or at least things that caused people to question his actions? He had meals with those that the spiritual leaders wouldn’t dare find themselves in the company of. I guess at the moment the only examples that come to mind are those where he interacted with people that most wouldn’t. I guess my ultimate question is where is the line drawn where we can live in the freedom we have in Christ verses…
Love playing games with my kids. We want to start doing a family game night once a week. Jacob enjoyed beating me at marbles. Then we had fun playing Rush Hour, and Jacob wanted to keep playing instead of having snack.
Today was another one of those days that I can see the results of the downward turn my health took this past year. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun #fitness #health
It was a great brisk morning for a speed run with Chris. #HWI #Run4Water #GroundhogMarathon #Garmin #Running
